Objective: 

 

Secondary School Mathematics Teacher.

 

Summary of Qualifications:

 

I have excellent writing and communication skills, am a good listener, and have the ability to quickly grasp complex concepts.  I am a fast learner and enthusiastic about working, have the ability to work well with groups, and am good at following instructions.  I have a proficient understanding of computers and a talent for problem solving and visualization.  I am fluent in German and have a working knowledge of both Greek and French.

 

Work Experience:

 

      Oakton High School, July 2004-Aug. 2004, Summer

      School Geometry Teacher,Worked 40 hours, was

      responsible for the planning and execution of one

      Geometry course. 

 

Edison High School, Aug. 2003-June 2004, Intern, worked 40 hours a week, was responsible for observing classes, substitute teaching, departmental duties, and student teaching (AP Calculus, two Algebra II, and IB Computer Science).

 

City Dock Outfitters, April 2002-Aug. 2003, Assistant

Manager(Retail), worked 40+ hours a week, was

responsible for daily operation of the store

including opening and closing the store, receiving

and cataloging merchandise, and sales.

 

Quantum Sail Design Group, Jan. 2002-April 2002, First Layout,Worked 40 hours a week, was responsible for spray gluing, broad-seaming, assembly of patches, and initial assembly of sails.

 

Naval Research Laboratory, summer 2000-summer 2001, Research Assistant/Data Analyst, worked 40 hours a week, was responsible for several projects in the X-ray astronomy department involving computer programming, data analysis, and data visualization.

 

Save Time Shell Gas Station, 1998-2002, Attendant, Worked 40+ hours a week, was responsible for making food, cleaning, stocking shelves, training new employees, and handling cash registers.

 

Education:       

 

George Washington University, Washington D.C., Masters in Secondary Education with an Endorsement in Mathematics, to be completed in May 2005.

(Teaching licensure to be acquired in August of 2004).

 

St. Johns College, Annapolis, Maryland, Bachelor of

Arts in Liberal Arts in the Humanities, majors in

Philosophy and History of Mathematics and Science,

minors in Classics and Comparative Literature,

completed in May 2001.

the top fifteen percent of all people ever to have

taken the Praxis II Mathematics: Content Knowledge

standardized test, 2004
